WILLIAM SMITH was a convict who was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 4 November 1791. Beyond this, nothing more is known of his identity as there were numerous convicts transported with this name on the First, Second and Third Fleets, which were the only convict ships that arrived prior to this WILLIAM SMITH’s death in November 1791.
