WILLIAM HARDING was a convict who was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 23 March 1792. The St. John’s burial register states that a WILLIAM HARDEN was buried earlier the same month on 7 March 1792. There were no convicts named WILLIAM HARDEN in this period, so it seemed likely that the first burial in March was meant to be WILLIAM HARDING. However, this does not explain the second burial; perhaps his burial was merely accidentally entered into the register twice. Further research required.
