Valentine Godsby (d.1792)

VALENTINE GODSBY was a convict who was tried and convicted at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England and sentenced to seven years transportation on 5 October 1790. GODSBY arrived with the Third Fleet per Britannia (1791) on 14 October 1791 but, like so many of his fellow Third Fleeters, he did not survive long in the colony. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 24 January 1792.
