Robert Istead (d.1792)

ROBERT ISTEAD was a convict who was tried and convicted at the Sussex Assizes held at East Grinstead and sentenced to seven years transportation on 21 March 1791. ISTEAD sailed from Yarmouth per Pitt (1792) on 17 July 1791 and arrived on 14 February 1792, but he did not survive long in the colony. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 2 June 1792.
