JOHN SEARS was a convict who was tried and convicted at St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England and sentenced to seven years transportation on 17 July 1788. SEARS arrived with the Third Fleet per Atlantic (1791) on 20 August 1791 but did not last long in the colony. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 13 April 1792.
