JOHN PATON was a convict who was buried in St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 8 March 1791. His identity is unclear, as there were no convicts by this name in the convict lists for ships that arrived prior to March 1791. Either he was buried under an alias, or his name was misspelt.
He was most likely the Second Fleet convict recorded as JOSEPH PARTERN per Neptune (1790). Further research required.
