JOHN GODFREY was a convict who was tried and convicted at the Essex Assizes and sentenced to seven years transportation on 7 March 1791. GODFREY arrived per Pitt (1792) on 14 February 1792 but did not last long in the colony. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 5 May 1792.
