JOHN DUGLAS was a convict who was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 4 February 1792. His identity is unclear as there is no exact match between this name (including alternate spellings DOUGLAS and DOUGLASS) and any convicts who arrived in the colony prior to the burial on 4 February 1792. Assuming that the first name only was incorrect, there is a possibility that the convict buried on that day was either of the following Third Fleet convicts; WILLIAM DUGLAS per Britannia (1791) or DAVID DOUGLAS per Britannia (1791). Further research required.
