JOHN BENNETT was a convict who was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta on 12 March 1792 as “JOHN BENNITT, Convict” [sic]. His identity is not clear as there were two convicts with the same name who had arrived in the colony prior to this burial date; Third Fleet convict JOHN BENNETT per Queen (1791) and JOHN BENNETT per Pitt (1792), which had arrived less than a month earlier. Further research required.
