James Knowles (d.1792)

JAMES KNOWLES was a convict who was tried and convicted at Manchester, England and sentenced to seven years transportation on 21 January 1790. KNOWLES arrived with the Third Fleet per Atlantic (1791) on 20 August 1791 but did not survive long in the colony. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. John’s Cemetery, Parramatta around four and a half months later on 8 January 1792.
